  Condole the death of Dr. A P J Abdul Kalam.

            SalaamValekum Kalamjee!

 The AILRSA expresses its profound sorrow at the demise of Dr.A P ABDUL KALAM, the eleventh president of India, at the Bethany hospital, Shillong the capital city of Meghalaya. Born in Rameswaram, Tamilnadu on 15-10-1931 lived through his entire life in building the nation for its all-round growth and development. The sudden demise of former President Dr.A P J Kalam was a tremendous loss to the country.    

 Dr. Kalam has had a versatile career spanning space technology & defense research, He was honoured with the Padma Bhushan, Padma Vibhushan and the prestigious Bharat Ratna by the Indian Republic. As president of India, he discharged his responsibilities in a dignified manner.

Besides being a great scientist, Dr. Kalam was also an excellent manager, a great visionary, a remarkable leader, and above all, an inspiration to every Indian and many more across the world. He represents the true spirit of achievement and the unconquerable might of hard work and determination against all odds. His Contributions to rocket technology in India and the weaponisation of strategic missile systems invoke great awe and admiration for this great personality. The people of our country are very much indebted to Dr. Kalam for his outstanding contributions in laying a strong foundation for rocket technology

Missile-Man & People’s President has been the different phrases to describe him. One thing that has been closest to his heart was children. He took up a mission to ignite the young minds for national development by meeting high school students from across the country. He was also the Chancellor of the Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology (IIST).

Dr. Kalam represented the true spirit of sacrifice. Even at the age of 84, he had a rigorous schedule for Inspiring and igniting young minds and in that pursuit he visited IIM, Shillong and had his last breath on this planet while deliberating there, on ‘Livable Planet’. It is this spirit of sacrifice that helped him transcend all limitations and he became a towering personality with international repute.

Dr. Kalam will remain alive forever, in our memories and through his works and continue to inspire generations to come.
The AILRSA pays homage to his memory and conveys its condolences to the members of       Dr. Kalam’s family.
